Digital Radiography
Smile Makeover Specialist
Dr. Matin has recently added some new revolutionary services to her practice to benefit our valuable patients. We now have the latest advancement in digital technology radiography. This allows for instant intraoperative images in which Dr. Matin can detect lesions at an earlier stage of demineralization than is possible on conventional x-rays. Digital imaging improves diagnostic efficiency and the quality of the film can be enhanced by changing the contrast of the film and enlargement for the patient to view instantly for patient education.
Digital films also allow insurance claims to be submitted at time of treatment with the films attached and faster turn around time in insurance payments and fewer insurance denials or requests for additional information.
The digital technology reduces radiation risk 70 to 80 percent from conventional films. It is highly important in diagnosing the evaluation of newly placed restorations and crowns. Our new panoramic digital machine will cut down on the amount of individual films needed when a different view of the patients teeth are needed for diagnosis of impacted, infected or foreign objects in the soft tissue and for orthodontic diagnosis.
The most useful advantage of digital radiography is the ability it gives us to send images to other practitioners in a matter of minutes when we need to refer with other specialists.
Digital films are electronically stored in the patient’s document center instead of the patient chart and less potential for loss or damage and immediately retrieval.
